409 Stainless Steel Pipe is a heat-resistant ferritic stainless steel with good oxidation resistance and corrosion resistance. This titanium stability grade was developed for automotive exhaust systems, but its good formability, weldability and corrosion resistance have led to its use in other applications.
409 Stainless Steel Pipe is more corrosive than 304 stainless steel, but its service life is longer than that of ordinary OEM aluminized steel exhaust system. This is the next step in corrosion protection.
