316L stainless steel Round Bars are austenitic stainless steels containing molybdenum. 316/316l stainless steel bar, bar and wire alloys not only have excellent corrosion resistance and strength properties, but also provide higher creep, fracture stress and tensile strength at high temperatures. 316/l refers to the lower carbon content to provide better corrosion protection during welding.
The primary phase of austenitic steel is austenite (face centered cubic crystal). 316L stainless steel Round Bars contain chromium and nickel (sometimes manganese and nitrogen) and consist of type 302 iron, 18% chromium and 8% nickel. Austenitic steels shall not be hardened by heat treatment.
