Inconel 800 and Incoloy 800 belong to the same family of superalloys and are often referred to as high performance alloys. In addition to providing high resistance to all forms of corrosion, both superalloys exhibit superior oxidation resistance. Both superalloys have high mechanical strength at high temperatures. The combination of these factors is what makes these two alloys high-performance types. As they belong to the same family, their properties are similar, but the difference in their composition is what distinguishes them.
The key difference between Inconel 800 and Inconel 800 is their compositions. Inconel 800 is an alloy whose chemical compositions are mainly nickel and chromium. Typically, the alloy's chemical composition is more than 50 percent nickel.
On the other hand, the heat-resistant alloy 800 is an alloy consisting mainly of nickel, iron and chromium. Unlike the former, this particular alloy contains less than 50 percent nickel in its chemical compositions. Apart from chemical compositions, another difference between the two alloys is their use in specific applications or industries.
