Biochemical sludge is a by-product of sewage treatment. In recent years, with the introduction of urban sewage, municipal water treatment to supplement production water and back to the Fen River Wetland Park, the volume of sewage treatment has increased dramatically, and the amount of biochemical sludge has also doubled several times. In the past, this sludge needed to be pulled out for treatment by qualified solid waste companies. In recent years, as solid waste sludge treatment technology continues to mature, the use of sludge coupled with coal-fired blending for power generation is being adopted by more and more enterprises. TISCO was the first to try it out, and the blending device was put on simultaneously when the industrial wastewater treatment system was upgraded in 2019. "Sludge has a certain calorific value, but there are also a large number of microorganisms, organic matter and other substances remaining, after blending in may have an impact on the calorific value of power generation as well as power generation equipment, but through a period of adjustment and observation, after mixing and blending, the impact in all aspects is not significant, and the system runs stably." Liu Jiangang, the supervisor of the fuel operation area of the Energy Power General Plant, introduced.
In order to achieve better blending effect, the Energy Power General Plant has upgraded the linkage system of sludge blending device to realize automatic operation, with better blending effect and higher efficiency, and the daily processing capacity can reach up to 100 tons. In the past three years, TISCO has used a total of 43,000 tons of sludge blending and power generation, which can save more than 6.5 million yuan per year in treatment cost according to the market cost of 400 yuan per ton of sludge treatment, while using sludge calorific value for power generation to replace part of the coal burning can also create value. TISCO sludge blending power generation not only realizes the harmless and resourceful disposal of biochemical sludge, achieving recycling of solid waste without leaving the factory, but also creates good economic and environmental benefits for the enterprise, truly realizing emission reduction and efficiency.
