Corrosion resistance
686 alloy is resistant to all kinds of corrosive media. The chromium composition gives the alloy better corrosion resistance under oxidation conditions than nickel 99.2 and nickel 99.2. At the same time, the higher nickel content makes the alloy have good corrosion resistance in reduction conditions and alkaline solutions, and can effectively prevent chlorine-iron stress corrosion cracking.
