409 stainless steel is a general chromium and titanium stabilized ferritic stainless steel, which is mainly used in automobile exhaust system. It contains 11% chromium, which is the minimum amount to form a passivation facial mask for corrosion resistance of stainless steel. It has good high temperature corrosion resistance, medium strength, good formability and overall cost.
