201 Stainless Steel Strip is an austenitic stainless steel: a chromium nickel alloy. Compared with 304 stainless steel, it has higher manganese and nitrogen content and lower nickel content. This element combination reduces the cost, improves the mechanical strength, and makes the work hardening speed of the alloy faster than that of Type 304. The corrosion resistance and oxidation resistance of the material are slightly lower than those of Type 304.
The difference between 201 and 304
Commonly used stainless steel plates are divided into 201 stainless steel and 304 stainless steel
201 the surface is bright and easy to rust. 304 stainless steel has no gloss and rust.
201 has poor corrosion resistance, so the price is much cheaper. Moreover, because 201 has low nickel content, its price is lower than 304 stainless steel, so its corrosion resistance is not as good as 304 stainless steel
