The difference between cold rolled coil and hot rolled coil

1. Appearance and surface quality: The surface quality (such as surface roughness) of cold-rolled coil is better than that of hot-rolled plate, because it is obtained by cold rolling and some surface processing is carried out at the same time. Therefore, if the products are sequentially coated, such as coating quality, etc., there are high requirements, and generally the cold plate is selected. Hot plate is divided into pickling plate and non-pickling plate. The surface of the pickled steel plate becomes a normal metal color because of pickling, but the surface of the unsold steel plate is not as high as that of the cold-rolled steel plate, or there is an iron oxide layer. Generally speaking, it is baked by fire. If the storage environment is not good, a little embroidery is usually brought.

2. Performance: Generally speaking, the mechanical properties of hot-rolled coil and cold-rolled coil are considered to be the same in engineering. Although there is some work hardening in the cold rolling process, (but strict mechanical properties need to be treated differently). Cold-rolled coil usually has slightly higher yield strength and higher surface hardness than hot plate, and how to anneal it depends on the degree of cold plate. But the strength of annealed plate is higher than that of hot plate.

3. Molding performance: Because the properties of cold-rolled and hot-rolled coils are basically not too much, the factors that affect the molding performance depend on the difference of their surface quality. Because the surface quality of cold-rolled coils is better, generally speaking, the appearance of steel plates of the same material is better than that of hot plates.
